Salary vs Inflation (Real Wage) Calculator

The real raise shows whether a pay rise actually increased purchasing power. With a 25% nominal raise and 30% inflation, purchasing power fell by about 3.85%. The calculator computes:

• Nominal raise = (new ÷ old − 1) × 100
• Real raise = ((1 + nominal) ÷ (1 + inflation) − 1) × 100
• Inflation-adjusted salary = old × (1 + inflation), also the present value of the past salary.
• Purchasing power = new ÷ (1 + inflation): the new salary in start-of-period prices.
• Target salary = inflation-adjusted salary × (1 + target real increase).

Enter inflation as a rate or as two CPI index values; with indices inflation is (end ÷ start − 1) × 100. In Turkey official CPI (TÜFE) figures are published monthly by TÜİK. It works the same for gross or net salaries, as long as both salaries are of the same kind.
