Bond and Eurobond Coupon Withholding Calculator

Calculate coupon amounts, gross interest, withholding tax and net interest for bonds and eurobonds.

Things to keep in mind

  • Withholding rates on bonds, bills and eurobonds depend on the issuer, issue date, term and investor status; confirm the rate with your broker.
  • Eurobond interest is generally not subject to Turkish withholding and may have to be declared in the annual return; declaration is not calculated here.

About this tool

Each coupon equals nominal × annual coupon rate / coupons per year. Foreign-currency coupons are converted to TRY at the collection-date rate. Because Turkish withholding rates depend on the instrument and issue date, you enter the rate.

How to use

  1. Enter the nominal amount and the annual coupon rate.
  2. Enter the number of coupons per year and how many coupons to calculate.
  3. For foreign-currency bonds enter the exchange rate (leave 1 for TRY bonds).
  4. Enter the withholding rate and press Calculate.

Notes

The coupon per payment is rounded to cents in TRY; gross interest is the coupon times the number of coupons. Capital gains on early sale, currency gains and redemption differences are not included.

Frequently asked questions

Coupon = nominal × annual coupon rate / 100 / coupons per year. Net interest = gross interest − gross interest × withholding rate / 100.
